| Kundalini Shakti |
|
| Kundalini-Shakti is the beneficent, blissful, and yet most subtle vibration of Divinity, hidden within the subtle body as the very link between our human consciousness and divine consciousness (Shiva). This most sacred essence of the Mahadevi (Great Goddess) is called the “coiled power” (Kundalini Shakti), because, after giving rise to human awareness in the physical body, she retreats to a coiled, dormant state at the base of the subtle spine. By awakening Kundalini through Yoga practices, the Goddess returns to her Divine Consort, Shiva, by way of ascending up through the subtle spinal channel (susumna) to his locale at the crown of the head, expanding the consciousness of the yogini along the way. When Kundalini reaches the crown center, the sahasrara cakra (‘1,000 spoked wheel’, below left), the Yogini, has a complete experience of Immersion (Samavesha) into Universal Consciousness, even while she retains her now effulgently radiant human form.
