| What is Bronze?
Bronze sculptures contain a variety of metal alloys in different accents depending on the objective of the artist. Casted via the lost wax method, the category of ‘bronze’ has many variants; there is no strict definition of exactly which metals, when combined and molded under intense heat, constitute a bronze creation. Typically, a bronze sculpture will consist mainly of copper alloys combined with tin, with elements of brass and nickel added in. Often a bronze will also contain trace amounts of aluminum, manganese, and other metals that give the finished product a particular desired luster. |
